A hot button topic that is frequently debated, immigrant labor is often considered detrimental to US citizens looking for work and for the overall economy. Many businesses are hesitant to hire immigrants, skilled or unskilled, because business owners either believe that they should only hire U.S. citizens or feel pressure into giving preference to citizens.
After all, there are few people who’d like to see an American job not go to an American citizen, but there are some surprising statistics that point out that bringing in skilled workers can, in the larger picture, help boost the economy.
